BP4 (Discovering Web 2.0 Tools)

I am currently a Broadcast Video Production Teacher in Atlanta. I educate students in grades 9-12. I often find it very challenging to decide on what to do for my students so that they can continue building their broadcasting portfolio and stay structured as they continue to work on video projects.
The platform selected to help me with this task is Reel Clever. This platform allows the user to organize various video projects by using the following elements for project effectiveness; Shooting schedules, Video Draft Rooms, Project Discussions,File Management,Cast and Crew Tools,Storyboarding, Online portfolios, and Promotional Tools. Overall I highly recommend this Web 2.0 Platform for Broadcasting Educators, because it not only will prepare your students for the transition to production studios, it will help them stay organized as they CREATE!
I am so excited about this platform. I am going to implement this soon in my own classroom.

  1. Ree Clever's platform did look very interesting to me and even though I am not in video production, I have my student create a variety of media. Typically they choose the video format and currently we have only used the option of iMovie and Animoto. What I hope is that because this site has built in tools necessary to create good video, is the software easy to use for amateurs?

  2. Planning is the most complicated and time-consuming part of any production, but certainly the most important. And you're right, it IS incredibly important for students to have that experience.
I love the idea of scheduling and creating deadlines, multi-user discussion, storyboarding (for the visuals), and even props lists.

    What a great tool! Thanks!
